If You Were Playing Texas Hold-em Poker And This Happened. What Would You Do? Thank You.?

You start with pocket 4,s (Two fours) You get to look at the flop it is 10 diamonds 4 hearts 6 diamonds . You are now sitting with 3 of a kind (Three fours) BUT Before you can look at the turn card someone has gone "all in" everyone else has folded. It is going to cost you A LOT to continue. What would you do?? Thank you.

  • this is where experience, your knowledge of the other players, your observation, and your recall of everything that has happened in the hand prior to this moment are important.
  • finally, maybe he has a flush draw.
  • there are seven cards that kill his flush (t t t 4 6 6 6), and on the turn three more cards that could pair the board.
  • my best guess in this situation is that he has an over pair or a flush draw.
  • but i'll take a general guess at it if you like.
  • so he only has eight diamonds to make his flush.
  • At this point, someone might be on a flush or up and down straight draw (although they haven't got either yet), they may also have three ten or three sixes.
  • this is the nasty scenario where you are all but drawing dead.
  • the problem in poker is deciding which of these things is going on.
  • it's unlikely your opponent has t6 t4 or 64 unless he was in the big blind and got to see the flop for free.
  • if he has an over pair he is something like 10% to hit trips on the turn or river beating you.
  • if you are playing a tournament, you may have to risk it all on this one hand.
  • maybe he has at, or maybe he has an over pair to the board jj qq kk or aa.
  • that is the thing that makes no limit such a difficult game to play.
  • so in both cases, a call would seem reasonable.
  • the aggressor could have nothing at all, but is now applying maximum pressure to you.
  • because then you are drawing almost dead.
  • but in the absence of all this information, i like a call here, with the hope you are not drawing dead or nearly dead.
  • if he has a flush draw he will make his flush about 35% of the time.
  • your question does not explain anything about the kind of game, the opponents, the stack sizes or any other important information to make this decision.
  • the real scare cards for you are pocket tens and pocket sixes.
3 fours is a pretty good hand with another 2 cards to improve it, I'd go for it, but I'm a gambler, but there are ways it can be beat.
  • of course it's less than that because if he hits the four of diamonds you get quads.
  • in a cash game you are having to put your real money on the line based on this one decision.
  • the final scenario is that he made better trips than you and he is moving all in to fight off a flush draw.
  • if the board pairs, you make a full house.

The possibilities include pocket 6s or 10s or 2 pair, or an over pair, and he's betting to run off the draws, or he HAS the draw and is trying to steal, or a flat bluff. Although there's no way to judge the likelihood without knowing the player's image (or yours,) and no way to judge the value of the call without knowing the pot size or stack sizes of you and your opponent, overall I'd say call. Even against a tight opponent, the likelihood is that you're ahead. In a tournament, it all depends on where you are in the overall chip counts, and definitely on whether you cover him or he covers you. It's still a strong call, but not strong enough to risk your tournament life on if it's very early on in play draw poker free games online no bet. If t's day 3, or you've already moneyed, or you have him covered by enough to still play on if you lose, or you're short stacked compared to the blinds enough to need to make a move, then call. Otherwise, let it go and wait for a better spot free hoyle 5 card draw poker download.

I am basing my answer that you are in late position and the player who moved all in is in early position possibly one of the blinds and that everyone limped in Pre flop. Usually a raise of this nature with a flush and straight draw on flop is intended to get those people out because they are not getting proper pot odds draw poker free games online no bet. In this situation I put the all in raiser with top pair average kicker (maybe J10) or if they are in the blinds they might have a hand like 10-6. I would call the bet, since I am assuming there was not a pre flop raise the only possible hand the player can have that would beat you is 66, most likely a player would raise with 1010 sign up casino cash bonus usa excepted. Trips are tough to fold especially if there was not any preflop action.

If I knew he was prone to make stupid calls then I'd have no hesitation in calling. If it was a player that had never bluffed then I would assume he/she either had pocket 10's or Aces.Generally speaking I would probably have calledDid this happen to you then .... if so, what did you do??

    • Depends a lot on how the other player acts.
    • What did they do preflop, bet, call, raise?
    • Are they a tight player?

    • If so they probably have 666 or TTT so you should fold.
    • If so they may possibly still have the above but also 1 pair or 2 pair, possibly even just overcards, maybe they are betting on a flush draw, are the odds there for you to play against the draw?

If the other player had flopped trips then, the best play for them is to check. If they put in a small bet then you would be obligated to raise the bet on the flop because there are draws on the board that you do not want to call (or atleast pay to draw).
