My Son Is A Bad Kid, And I Need Help Stopping Him To Go Online All The Time.?

Damion-Morgan, 2007-11-01 16:31:47
ok here is the problem, i have a sixteen year old son that loves to play online poker. I have tried many ways to block the poker sites but somehow he still gets through them. i am sick of downloading parental blockers, so my friend told me there was a way in which u could specify a word such as "poker" and block it from web access, like if he typed in the word poker, the internet would automatically not display wat he was looking for. If anyone knows how to do this i would be so thankful. please please help. i am worried about him.

Make him aware of this and then send him to gamblers anonymous, against his willl he has no priviledges until he moves out of your home. Your home your rules and the laws of the City, County, State, and Country he lives in determine the things he can legally do. I would ask a local law enforcent officer about the local law to see what the law about this is in your area.

  • i'm seventeen and my dad restricts my computer use with a program called Time Control.
  • It can restrict sites, computer time, internet time, program time, and all these other things.
  • You can also try putting a password on the actual computer account.
  • But like a few ppl said, yea ur son's not a bad kid but he should probably see somebody.
  • I know I had to when my anger got out of hand.....in my opinion this is similar to my situation.Or you could get rid of the internet for a while and get him some counselling.
  • Do what it takes.
  • If you need internet access for yourself then go to the library or something.
  • You must get him away for a while so he can get some space and think about it.Change your computer's log in password.

I'd worry more about if the reason he wants to learn is so he can play with all his boys and lose real money. Does he have a job? I mean who knows he could be a famous poker player one day- I just think though that sitting at the computer is a bad way to live so I'd worry more about that. You shouldnt let him get into a habit of being in front of a screen all day thats unhealthy. Is he thinking about his future? Does he have other hobbies? I think you should put aside time for him to go online regardless of if he is playing poker or checking his email.

You can also restrict the time period of time he is able to connect to the internet. Look up blocking domain names. Did you spend enough time with your son when he was a kid?Find out what is so interesting in poker that nothing else matters for him.Find out a better distraction for him i.e. something better than poker. Have you spoiled him by giving a lot of money?Be very clear that he can get pocket money only if his behavior is good and he does something useful. You can try showing him documentaries or films about how a handicapped person has become successful or something, it can inspire him to do something i.e. he will think when this person can do so can I.
